Italianiron & Britiron Classics - Vintage & Modern Wheel Offerings #2
Posted by Scot Wilson on
At Italian Iron & BritIron Classics we pride ourselves on being able to offer good used OEM wheels for vintage and modern Ducati's, like FPS, OSCAM, Brembo and Marchesini brands just to name a few. However thanks to our working relationship with TGA/Molnar Precision LTD in the UK, we are also able to offer speciality magnesium race wheels from Marvic. As our joint focus is on supporting the sport of vintage Motorcycle Racing internationally, we have had success using and now offering these specialty magnesium race wheels by adding our new Marvic product portfolio. Featured below is the Marvic Streamline magnesium wheel that is sold individually. These wheels are precisely what we and MPL Racing use on our Ducati TT 2 and TTF1 racers. Due to TGA/MPL's working relationship with Marvic, we can now offer this speciality 3.50" x 17" front wheel for 960 GBP. The link below is for the front Marvic wheel, however, we do offer both front and rear Streamline wheels for purchase.
Newly available is the iconic 5 spoke Campagnolo magnesium wheels that Ducati Corse made famous in the early days of two wheel racing. Now these historically significant wheels are being manufactured and offered through Marvic. What I love about Marvic re-manufacturing these wheels is that they fit our philosophy of maintaining the design, style and function of the original items but with all of the enhancements from updated technological advances in the manufacturing process as well as advances in metallurgy! The original Campagnolo wheels were highly desired on the early Ducati Bevel Drive Supersport and early Ducati Pantah racers back in the day. These light and reliable Campagnolo wheels are gravity sand cast in magnesium alloy for a finished weight of 2.6 kg. We also offer a wide array of specialty brake rotors, axles, adjusters and sprockets to fulfill the custom "recipe" for your racer or street bike application. The price for our "Campy" front wheel is 960 GBP. The link below is for the front Marvic Campagnolo wheel.
Now available for purchase is the iconic 7 spoke Marvic Morris front magnesium wheel that the American Morris company introduced over 40 years ago. Marvic has created this impressive 7 spoke replica wheel to meet the increased interest in 1970`s racers. These Marvic Morris magnesium wheels are replicas of the original Morris wheels in both design and aesthetics. These light and reliable Morris wheels are gravity sand cast in magnesium alloy for a finished weight of 3.3 kg and available in sizes: 2.50" x 18", 2.75" x 18", and 3.00" x 18". Current color availability: Gold, Black, White, Silver, Titanium Grey, Marlboro Orange, Red, and Blue. It is such a great benefit that Marvic has been remanufacturing these wheels with all of the enhancements from updated technological advances in the manufacturing process as well as advances in metallurgy! We also offer a wide array of specialty brake rotors, axles, adjusters and sprockets to fulfill the custom "recipe" for your racer or street bike application. Price is 960 GBP. Shown below is the link to our Marvic Morris front wheel.
To compliment our portfolio of new and used OEM wheels, we also offer OEM Ducati swingarms in steel or aluminum for the Ducati Supersports, Monsters, and Paso's as well as other Ducati models from our Italianiron.com inventory. We can also offer OEM swingarms for the now vintage Ducati 996/748 Superbikes from our inventory. As a result of our affiliation with TGA/Molnar Precison LTD, we offer a chrome-moly Verlicchi style tubular chrome-moly swingarm for our TT and Ducati F1 racers. In addition, we also offer a spectacular "box-section" swingarm for TT2's, TT F1, Ducati F1's racers and Ducati Supersports. These two swingarms are ultra light and are amazing pieces of "race kit" to compliment your custom racer or street bike project. Price is 485 GBP. We have been very excited at all of the interest, enthusiasm and the orders for the Norton Commando heavy duty engine crank cases and barrels. We continue to remain laser focused on supporting the sport of vintage motorcycle racing internationally. As a result of our offerings, it is our hope to help you to become immersed in the history, the passion and the early technology of these amazing machines. As we continue to offer upgraded bits for our TT racers as well as specialty items for Ducati F1's, it has been rewarding to offer specialty items for Norton's and other Brit bikes thanks to our collaboration with TGA/Molnar Precision LTD in Preston, England. Shown below is a Spanner and one set of (2) Fork Seal Collars for the Norton & Triumph Road Holder front forks for 60 GBP. This spanner is manufactured from steel and is zinc plated with two pins that securely holds the seal collar in place. Please know that our spanner and each fork seal collar can be purchased separately.
Another speciality item for our Norton's is the oil filter kit shown below. This kit is a compact, specially designed oil filter kit for your classic Norton Commando or Manx race bike. Originally it was designed for the Manx in a Featherbed frame. This compact filter fits between the engine plates and is completely hidden from view. Machined from billet aluminum for low weight. Fasteners are pre-drilled for safety wiring and oil filters are easily accessible for replacement and are available to order. I will be using this oil filter kit on my Norton 850 Commando JPN project and will post photos once my kit arrives and I can illustrate the ease and effectiveness of installation install. It is our goal to offer our speciality Norton bits manufactured by TGA/Molnar Precision LTD in the UK for the same price that this is shown on the TGA website of 220 GBP. To maintain consistency, we offer our items in US Dollars on the website after converting from British Pounds Sterling (GBP). We also work hard to maintain accurate pricing through monitoring apps like XE Trade to keep current as currency values rise and fall.
At Italianiron & Britiron Classics along with TGA Molnar Precision LTD, we remain jointly committed to supporting the sport of Classic Motorcycle Racing. As a result, we currently offer two different AP Lockheed front master cylinders. One AP Lockheed master cylinder is designed for use with the dual disc racing application and the other AP Lockheed item is used for the street application for the different models of Norton Commando, other British marques, and many other marques that use a single brake rotor. The price for either single or dual disc front brake master cylinder is 280 GBP. Do know that neither AP Lockheed brake master cylinder, itself, has a provision for a brake pressure switch. Please contact me at Birtironclassics@gmail.com regarding your requirements so that we can make sure that we provide you with the correct item for your specific build application.
It has been great fun working more actively with Norton Commandos again. These iconic racers significantly shaped my early fascination with racing motorcycles. The Norton 850 Commando JPN project is moving along extremely well and I will be soon able to get her up on her wheels and then fine tune with specialty brake items from TGA/Molnar Precision LTD. Another specialty item is the 2 piston, twin-apposed magnesium AP Lockheed Racing caliper for 195 GBP. With a brake carrier plate I can use the stopping power of these iconic racing items despite the fact that this Norton 850 Commando will be used almost exclusively on our mountain roads of the American Southwest. Another shipment of these brake bits is on its way to my shop here in Tucson, Arizona. Will post more photos as the project continues to move forward.
In addition to our product portfolio for TT and other Ducati racers, we are also excited to support enthusiasts for Norton Manx and Norton Commando racers through Molnar Manx and BritIron Classics Norton. Please understand that the prices for our TT, Ducati and Norton Commando aluminum fuel tanks as listed on my Italianiron.com website are not eligible to be discounted. We have established a new "Make An Offer" feature on our Italianiron.com website for use on all of our used OEM Ducati and Norton items. If you prefer, feel free to contact me through the website or through my new email address Italianiron7@mnsn.com to discuss any reasonable offer that you feel more affectively represents the value of that vintage item that you are interested in. As a result of our offerings, it is our hope to help you to become immersed in the history, the passion and the early technology of these amazing machines. Let us "Fuel Your Race Passions" to keep the sport of Vintage Motorcycle Racing alive and well!!
