As mentioned in this post,  https://www.italianiron.com/blogs/news/italianiron-britiron-classics-new-offerings our fiberglass TT 1TT 2, and TT 900 fuel tanks are manufactured with special additives in the resin and are warranted against defects and any damage caused by current pump fuels up to E5. Please see below. We feel that it is essential that we also discuss what is NOT covered by the Warranty. Those items not covered are as follows: 1) specialist race fuels 105 octane and above are not covered 2) the use of fuel additives is prohibited 3) do not use any proprietary internal sealants 4) consequential losses, including painting costs, are not covered. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you "leak-test" tanks before painting to ensure that no damage has occurred since manufacture. Further, paint baking temperatures in excess of 140 degrees Fahrenheit or 60 degrees Centigrade are prohibited. In the event of a claim, the tank must be returned to the UK, shipping paid, for examination. If your claim is accepted the shipping costs will also be refunded. In the previous blog posts from 14 June 20 and 31 May 20, we have discussed the quality, hand-made manufacturing process of our aluminum, shallow sump and deep sump TT fuel tanks for vintage or modern Ducati engines. Those fuel tanks arrive in a natural or raw condition, however, each tank can be polished or painted at an additional cost. In addition to our portfolio of TT fuel tanks, another popular quality fuel tank is the Pantah Racer NCR styled fuel tank. Currently, the Pantah tank is only available in fiberglass. When we built our Pantah 650 Racer, we used this Pantah race tank that we offer with its corresponding seat base. I am able to buy ethanol-free 98 octane race fuel that is close to the same price as premium. I have been able to use a mix of 98 octane race fuel with premium Shell pump gas. As a result, I have not experienced any issues that are common when one combines fiberglass with pump fuels. From my experience in using our products, I can personally recommend using our fiberglass tanks. Based upon our experience with the quality of our fuel tanks, we do believe that we can safely use 105 octane or less and without violating the warranty. I have been involved in the restoration of the "magnificent" Ducati Bevel Drives for the past 30 years. There is a very special place in my heart for the "Round Case" Ducati 750 Sport and GT in addition to my 1981 Ducati 900 ss MHR "Square Case". As a help to my fellow Bevel-Heads out there, it is my desire to assist with offering high quality fiberglass fuel tanks. Again, I can attest to the quality of our fiberglass fuel tanks as well as to our bodywork kits as I have used them all with great success. All that it takes to successfully use one of our fiberglass fuel tanks is some proactivity with regard to the choice of fuels used. Additionally, I typically drain the fuel out of these tanks when I park those  bikes with our fiberglass tanks and if they are to stand idle for a long period of time. Such is the penalty for owning too many bikes if that is even possible!! These are just a few suggestions based upon my experience. 

Shown below is our fiberglass copy of the bevel drive Ducati 750 cc Sport fuel tank. Our fiberglass fuel tanks are manufactured with special additives in the resin to resist damage from modern pump fuels up to E5. The same manufacturer's warranty discussed earlier accompanies the purchase of this tank. However, as mentioned previously, I have had success using ethanol-free 98 octane race fuel that is very cost effective. Our vintage Ducati engines really enjoy good detonation and good performance that comes from using these race fuels. When racing my Spaggiari Scuderia Ducati 750 ss Corse inspired racer, I commonly used 112 octane race fuel without ill effect to my fiberglass Imola tank. However, when I was racing this 750 cc bevel drive, I was not concerned about a warranty. However, my fiberglass Imola fuel tank has never split, cracked, delaminated or dumped fuel in all of these decades! The second Ducati 750 cc Bevel Drive that I purchased to restore back in the 1990's was a GT that came in the striking Gold & Black livery. Today, the "Round Case" 750 GT's demand premium pricing if one is to be found at all. Thanks to Andy Molnar and his team at Molnar Manx/MPL, we have been having a great deal of fun working with numerous Molnar Manx and Norton Commando twin cylinder projects. Therefore, it is very appropriate to discuss what is available for the Molnar Manx racer and for the Norton twin cylinder spare parts that we offer through BritIron ClassicsMolnar Precision LTD supplies beautiful Molnar Manx fuel tanks that I had the privilege to hold when visiting MPL in Preston, England and found it to be amazingly light. The quality of the manufacturing process is remarkable for a large capacity Manx style fuel tank like this. It is not surprising that the Molnar Manx has been the race standard based upon the number of Championships and race wins achieved in it's class. These aluminum Manx fuel tanks are TIG welded, annealed throughout and baffled as required. It comes complete with cap and cut-out for the carb. Fuel tap boss is welded in. Another significant work of art from Molnar Manx and Molnar Precision LTD is the aluminium fuel tank that is manufactured to fit our Seeley MK2 frames. Ideal for short circuit racing, compact and comfortable to ride with. Mounting bosses on the underside are designed to stop the tank from moving. These traditional Seeley type bosses are designed for holding down the tank without a strap. Annealed all over and TIG Welded. Supplied unpainted, unpolished and without a cap. Mountings are located to suit our Seeley MkII frames, and a fitting kit can be supplied to suit. Painting, Polishing, and Monza fuel caps can all be supplied if required. We are beginning to organize our OEM Norton Commando fuel tanks. Our first refurbished fuel tank is for a Norton Commando Roadster. This OEM tank is fiberglass and the lining is in extremely good condition. As a result, we did not re-line the tank as it was not needed and we re-painted the tank in the original black paint. Additionally, we used a stencil to paint the gold Norton logo instead of decals to create a very nice, smooth surface for this tank. As one can tell from the photo, the fuel tank is in great condition and with a deep rich paint job and plenty of clear coat.
