Italianiron/BritIron Classics Bodywork Seat Base Offerings

At Italianiron and BritIron Classics, we are very proud of our OEM and aftermarket products. As such, we desire to continue to offer additional quality Aluminum and Fiberglass items to make available for the Vintage Racing community. Shown above is our TT 1 next to our TT 1000 that were built with our chrome-moly TT frames and our TT bodywork kits. These TT kits are faithful copies of Tony Rutter's famous world championship winning racers. Let us "Fuel Your Race Passions" with one of our Ducati TT and F1 racer kits that you can use to create your own vision of that custom racer or street bike. We are here to assist you to make the best use of an available donor bike. These TT and F1 racer kits have been our key focus for decades and is where the history of Two Wheel Classics in the UK began. Yet our focus is expanding. The purpose of this series of blog posts is to highlight the depth of vintage motorcycle items that we offer, manufacture and are developing. However, I am focusing on the seats in this post that we make available for different Ducati, Norton and British motorcycles.


Our TT seats are available in three sizes, Standard "Rutter" size, 50 mm and 70 mm. In addition to the popularity of our TT Racers, our Pantah Racer chassis and bodywork kits have become very popular as of late. This Pantah race seat and tank is what I used on my 650 Pantah Racer build and is shown below. Our Pantah racer seat is designed to work ideally with our Pantah racer fuel tank, however it is also available separately. It is exciting to see the amount of racing that is taking place throughout the world with the Ducati "belt driven" Pantah engine. Dr Taglioni created an extremely successful engine when he penned the original Pantah design as it is powerful and yet incredibly light. It was this creation that has set the stage for the world class racing successes that the Ducati factory has enjoyed over these many decades to the present day. We can also assist that Ducati Pantah enthusiast with F1 bodywork that I have discussed previously in earlier blog posts and can be viewed on the website.

We are committed to supporting those Ducatisti who wish to make a light weight racer with modern Ducati Belt Driven twin cylinder engines and we are having a great deal of fun and soon racing successes using the Monster 1100 cc, 1000 cc and the 900 ss Ducati engines.  As I am a big fan of the carbureted Supersports, I find myself assisting many owners of these magnificent Ducatis with refurbished OEM bits. It is as a result of our enthusiasm for this model of Supersports that we continue to add new items to our ever expanding portfolio of bodywork to include this Ducati 750 ss racer seat base from the late 1980's and early 1990's. At we offer 900 cc and 750 cc engines as well as professionally refurbished OEM bodywork. When I started Italianiron Classics back in the 1990's, I was focused on the incredible Taglioni designed Ducati Bevel Drives. My Ducati "race passions" were created as I have always been in a state of "awe" when riding my 1981 Ducati 900 ss MHR and racing my Spaggiari Scuderia Ducati 750 ss Corse racer. These bevel drive Ducati's remain favorites of mine to this day. Not only are they iconic, but the performance remains awe inspiring for machines built in the 1980's and 1970's respectively. As a result, we always want to continue to offer items for these magnificent "Beasts". Shown below is the Mono Posta or Solo Seat that we make for the Ducati 900 ss "Supersport" Bevel Drive. There is also a race seat that is available for those who still want to take their Bevel Drive racers to the track. 

Shown below is our Mono Posta seat base for the Ducati 900 ss that is a faithful copy of the early "square case" Ducati 900 ss bevel drives. However, we would also be remiss if we did not mention again that we also stock Ducati single cylinder bodywork such as the Vic Camp Ducati single racer bodywork kit. In a future blog post, I will be writing about other products that we maintain in inventory for the vintage racer who is in need of bodywork kits for the Aermacchi, Honda CR 750, and Yamaha TZ 700 racers to name a few.


Thanks to Andy Molnar and his team at Molnar Manx/MPL, we have been having a great deal of fun working on numerous Molnar Manx and Norton Commando twin cylinder projects. Also, due to our affiliation with TGA/Molnar Precision LTD and Molnar Manx, we are proud to offer high quality race items to include seats for the Molnar Manx and for the Seeley GP, MK 2  &  MK 3 racers. Shown below is one of the very successful Molnar Manx racers that have dominated their class in Vintage Motorcycle Racing. However, seats are also made for use with Molnar Manx 500 cc and 350 cc motorcycles that are custom made for use on the street. 

In my visit to the Molnar Precision LTD facility in Preston, England, I was so impressed with the quality of all of the custom made bits that are made inhouse and through a small number of quality vendors. Whether you want to immerse yourself in the history and heritage of these single cylinder Molnar Manx "Monsters" on the track or on the street, there is a quality item or complete Manx motorcycle available to fit your application. Currently, the Molnar Manx seat base is available without a seat or can be ordered with upholstery. However, for US customers, we do also have very fine quality upholsters here in the American Southwest. Please advise as to your specifications and to how we can best service your requirements.

Colin Seeley made considerable, "World Class" contributions to the sport of Motorcycle racing and that spirit is maintained by Molnar Precision LTD. Shown below is a seat base for the Colin Seeley GP racer. It is quite a striking piece of art, functional form and history as I have one in inventory and marvel at the functional shape. We have provided the dimensions for this large Seeley Seat on the product page in the BritIron Norton section of my website. Please refer to the drawing for positions to confirm your requirements. Do understand that the listed measurements start underneath the seat and are approximate.

We are also excited to support enthusiasts for Norton Manx and Norton Commando racers through Molnar Manx and BritIron Classics Norton. In addition to numerous NOS and OEM Norton items, we have a good inventory of OEM and aftermarket bits for Norton 850 & 750 Commandos, Norton Atlas and Dominators available as well. It is our hope that you get immersed into the history, the passion and the early technology of these amazing machines.
