1981 Ducati 900 SSD, Part #2 Addendum

As a follow up to my blog post from yesterday, I wanted to add some information as it related to the strategy of my pricing. I see many used or "project" bikes coming up for sale for less than my 900 SSD. However, with a used motorcycle, there is always the uncertainty of the ultimate condition of the machine. These motorcycles are still decades old and made originally with decades old technology.  I also contacted a very notable restoration shop in Europe that restored two Ducati 900 SSD's and they were happy to share what they had sold their bikes for....

1981 Ducati 900 Desmo "Super Sport" SSD, Post #2

It is my opinion that the Ducati square case bevel drive 900 Desmo Super Sport SSD is an outstanding option for that individual who is looking for a potent performing Bevel Drive vintage motorcycle. It has the very torquey 900 engine with electric starter motor and the capacity for taking a passenger with ease. As mentioned in my previous blog post on this bike, I do understand that it is not as lithe or as race-.ready as the 900 ss SuperSport without electric start. However, the 900 SSD was in fact, raced successfully. I find that the majority of motorcycle...

2001 Reve RedBull Ducati 996 rs/2002 IFC Ducati 996 rs

One of our projects that will soon be completed and ready for sale is one of the Reve RedBull Ducati 996rs that was ridden by John Reynolds to his championship win in the 2001 season of British Superbike. As I have paperwork from team management, the history of this racebike does not end with the Reve RedBull team but it was alsowas also campaigned in the 2002 season of British Superbike by Sean Emmett when he was the number 1 rider for team IFC Ducati. Above is a photo from the 2001 season when John Reynolds and Sean Emmett were...

Ducati 851 Customer Build at ItalianIron Classics, LLC

At ItalianIron we have restored primarily, Bevel Drive Ducati 750 Sports and 900 Super Sports, however, we do like building projects such as more modern Ducati 851's. One could argue that due to its age that an 851 is really a vintage motorcycle.  Regardless, we have built or restored 4 Ducati 851's. My favorite is the Tri-Colore. Since I find that I cannot leave things alone, I did change a few things like the paint scheme by extending the Bimota metalic green through the front fender/mudguard and the switch the engine. It is exciting for me to see photos of my last...

1981 Ducati 900 Desmo "SuperSport"SSD

Our recent restoration project that is now available for sale is a 1981 Ducati 900 SSD. I would recommend this Ducati for that individual who loves the Ducati brand and is smitten with the Taglioni inspired Bevel Drive engines of the 1970's and 1980's. Additionally, this 900 SSD is a limited production model and along with the Mike Hailwood Replica was part of Ducati's marketing efforts back in the late 70's and 1980's to increase sales by building upon the successes of the Bevel Drive 900 SD and the 900 ss racers. The 900 SD Darmah was the most popular Ducati...
